Technical Business Analyst (Immediate Start)
£50,000 - £60,000 | Belfast (Hybrid) | Permanent
We are currently seeking an immediately available Technical Business Analyst to join a fast-growing, analytics-driven organisation delivering cutting-edge data platform solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the intersection of business and engineering, supporting the delivery of modern data and AI capabilities.
The Role
You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, structured, and delivered effectively across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops to gather and define business requirements
- Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications and user stories
- Produce clear functional and non-functional documentation
- Analyse source systems, data flows, and schemas
- Work extensively with Jira and Confluence for documentation and tracking
- Support solution design and backlog prioritisation alongside product owners
- Define and coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and release planning
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure successful delivery
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
- Proven experience delivering data or analytics-focused projects
- Expertise in writing user stories and acceptance criteria
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence
- Strong SQL skills for data profiling and validation
- Solid understanding of Agile delivery frameworks
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to Databricks, Snowflake, or modern data platforms
- Understanding of data modelling and metadata management
- Experience within regulated environments (e.g. banking, finance)
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices
