About the roleThere is a vacancy for a Road Safety Officer (RSO) with the Road Safety Team at Cambridgeshire County Council. This is a full-time, permanent post.
The Road Safety Team sits within the Transport & Connectivity Service of the Place and Sustainability Directorate and is a centre of excellence within the Council, across all Road Safety disciplines.
The Council has adopted the Vision Zero Road Safety strategy, aiming to eliminate road deaths and severe injuries by 2040 and is looking for people to work with us in achieving this ambitious vision.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, over the telephone, via email, face-to-face and using all external media.
A good working knowledge of road user behaviour, education, training, communications, community engagement techniques, sustainable transport and health improvements would be an advantage.
You will have experience of using data to produce and present reports and be able to use your initiative to prioritise and manage your workload. You will need to be self-motivated, organised and flexible.
The successful candidate must have a working knowledge of Windows & Microsoft packages (including Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
