Overview
The Head of Operations will oversee the CFT jurisdiction across multiple locations in the South West Region, ensuring consistent, high‑quality service delivery across 41 court and tribunal venues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and performance oversight of the CFT jurisdiction.
- Maintain a highly effective and consistent service delivery across dispersed sites, from major urban courts to rural and coastal locations.
- Lead a portfolio of operations, directly managing the Deputy Head of Operations and indirectly overseeing several hundred staff across the region.
- Work with leadership judges and senior stakeholders to develop the end‑to‑end service and improve performance.
- Engage effectively with internal stakeholders, the legal profession and external partners, managing interactions with the wider community and media.
- Anticipate and identify strategic organisational issues, analyse and interpret statistical information to assess performance, and resolve complex problems.
- Deliver excellent communication and customer service skills, understanding the needs of diverse end users, including professional justice partners, vulnerable victims and witnesses.
- Use strong influencing, collaborating and negotiating skills to deliver high levels of service within the jurisdiction.
- Demonstrate a proven track record of strategic planning and delivering significant change.
Qualifications
- Excellent leadership and relationship management skills, proven ability to deliver through others and lead large operational teams.
- Experience of operational/service management and supporting stakeholders/partners.
- Strong analytical skills, ability to anticipate, identify strategic organisational issues and analyse statistical data.
- Strong communication, customer service, influencing, collaborating and negotiating skills.
- A demonstrable track record of strategic planning and delivering significant change.
