Job Summary
We are seeking a Deputy Chief Nurse with credible clinical leadership and authentic engagement skills who is passionate about supporting us to continue our improvement journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain good working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders on business‑sensitive issues.
- Role model appropriate leadership behaviours across the trust.
- Lead as the expert in Professional Practice and Quality Assurance, integrating systems and managing effective working relationships with appropriate stakeholders.
- Work closely with the Chief Nurse to support all nurses with their continual personal and professional development and the delivery of the Nursing Plan.
- Provide and receive highly complex, sensitive and contentious information, including presenting projects and dependencies to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in formal settings.
- Manage potentially aggressive and/or antagonistic situations with staff and stakeholders within change programmes for successful outcomes.
- Deal with complex and conflicting subject‑matter problems or day‑to‑day workload in workshops, meetings, one‑on‑one communications and other events comprising various parts of the business.
- Effectively manage stakeholder relationships across different departments at all levels, maintaining relationships with key and high‑profile stakeholders such as key strategic regional and national policy makers.
- Deputise for the DIPC when required.
- Be a visible leader capable of turning around work promptly in accordance with deadlines; work with minimal supervision; support teams and the broader professional group.
- Act as a team player engaging with peer professional and corporate deputies to ensure a joined‑up approach to delivering strategy and priorities.
