Job Overview
Unique ‘Good’ graded Secondary School in Hackney is looking for a Physics Teacher / Head of Physics to start September 2026. It is a full‑time, permanent contract with TLR opportunities for Head of Physics or Head of Sixth Form. The role will cover approximately 19 periods of KS4 & KS5 Physics out of 33 teaching allocations in a setting that values small class sizes and extensive pastoral support.
Responsibilities
- Teach KS4 & KS5 Physics (≈19 periods of the 33 available).
- Enjoy full autonomy of Physics teaching across the school.
- Provide TLR opportunities as Head of Physics or Head of Sixth Form.
- Teach small class sizes – 20 at GCSE and under 10 in Years 12 and 13.
- Collaborate with an extensive pastoral support team.
- Adhere to the school’s behaviour policy.
- Contribute to a close‑knit, supportive team with a strong social aspect.
- Use state‑of‑the‑art, modern facilities.

Qualifications & Experience
- UK QTS or in the process of gaining.
- Strong academic background – degree, A Levels, and GCSEs.
- Meet the 8 Teaching Standards at a ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ level.
- Team player with a collaborative ethos.
