Legal Counsel (6 month FTC)

Newcastle | Part-time (4 days) | Hybrid (2 days onsite)

I’m working exclusively with a global, private equity-backed technology business in the construction sector that is going through a period of transformation and growth.

They are seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract to provide continuity following the departure of a long‑standing senior team member.

The Role

This is a broad, hands‑on in‑house position supporting across:

• Commercial contracts (customer and supplier)
• GDPR, privacy and compliance matters
• Day‑to‑day legal advisory work across the business
• Liaison with US‑based external counsel where required

This is a role for someone who can step into a live environment, pick things up quickly, and provide clear, pragmatic legal advice.

About You

• UK qualified solicitor with strong commercial legal experience
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating contracts
• Solid understanding of data protection and GDPR
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, evolving business
• Available immediately or on short notice
