About the roleWe are looking to recruit an Advanced Analyst to play an important role in ensuring the council can harness the potential of data, using evidence and best practice to support and inform the development of policy, strategy, plans and budgets, and in turn deliver the Corporate Strategy for Cambridgeshire County Council.
The post holder will be based within the Policy Performance and Intelligence Service alongside other analysts. They will work collaboratively with others to deliver a range of work within the communities and partnerships work area. This role will be responsible for supporting accurate, timely data entry, monitoring, tracking and reporting of contract KPIs and funding claims through our Connect to Work MI system and other systems such as DWP PRaP, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other contractual requirements. They will use this data to help support the team improve performance and successful achievement of the contract KPIs.
The role will sit within Cambridgeshire County Councils newly formed Communities and Demography Performance & Intelligence Team. A small team in a much bigger service who provide data, analysis insight and policy expertise to support the operational management and strategic planning of services.

We are looking for an individual with strong technical skills, who has a sound understanding of a range of data sources and can practically apply those skills to embed new data solutions. You will have experience of overseeing projects and supporting others, as well as excellent organisational skills.
Good communication skills, both oral and written, are essential for this role, as the post holder will be required to present complex and sometimes technical information in appropriate forms for a wide range of internal and external audiences.
You will have relevant previous experience in a similar field. High level of competence with Power BI, data analysis, and specialist data analytical software are also desirable. The successful applicant will be well supported to further develop their subject knowledge and technical skillset.
