Paralegal (Russian Speaking) – Business Crime & Civil Litigation
Contract: 12 months | Full‑time | London
A specialist law firm is seeking a Russian‑speaking Paralegal to join its paralegal team, supporting high‑profile matters across Business Crime and Civil / Commercial Litigation. This role offers exposure to complex, international disputes where accuracy, discretion and strong communication skills are essential.
The role
You’ll provide legal, administrative and linguistic support to fee‑earners working on sensitive and often high‑stakes matters. The work is varied, intellectually demanding and client‑facing, with opportunities to develop deep experience in disputes and investigations.
Key responsibilities
- Providing day‑to‑day paralegal support to Business Crime and Civil Litigation teams
- Translating and interpreting between Russian and English for documents, calls and meetings
- Assisting with legal research and drafting research memoranda on a wide range of issues
- Preparing detailed attendance notes of meetings and conference calls with clients, counsel and third parties
- Supporting complex document management and review exercises
- Assisting fee‑earners with case preparation, filings and trial support as required
- Working collaboratively within the paralegal team while managing your own workload effectively
About you
- Fluent Russian and excellent written and spoken English
- Degree‑level education with a strong academic record (2:1 or above)
- LPC/BPTC with a commendation (or equivalent) desirable
- Previous paralegal experience in business crime, commercial litigation or civil fraud preferred
- Strong research, drafting and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator, comfortable working with clients and senior stakeholders
- Experience using legal research platforms (e.g. LexisNexis, Westlaw, Practical Law)
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Proactive, resilient and able to work to demanding deadlines
- Sanctions experience is advantageous but not essential
Where Russian is your first language, candidates should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of UK professional and cultural context.
