Housing Commercial Manager
We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Housing Commercial Manager to oversee the financial and contractual management of large-scale housing maintenance and compliance contracts within a fast-paced property environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional with strong commercial, finance and contract management expertise, ideally gained within the social housing or construction sector. You will play a key role in ensuring robust financial governance, delivering value for money and supporting the strategic management of housing maintenance services.
Key Duties:
• Manage the commercial and financial performance of housing maintenance and compliance contracts worth over £50m annually
• Oversee JCT Measured Term Contract processes, including reviewing applications, issuing certificates and managing pay less notices
• Chair monthly commercial review meetings and challenge contractor submissions where required
• Monitor budgets, expenditure and forecasts, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance
• Apply and manage performance-related payment deductions in line with contractual frameworks
• Support budget planning, annual contract reviews and long-term financial forecasting
• Develop and improve financial systems, controls and operational processes
• Promote Open Book accounting principles and support financial awareness across operational teams
Requirements:
• AAT qualified with significant post-qualification finance experience
• Proven experience managing contract finances within social housing or construction
• Strong knowledge of JCT Measured Term Contracts
• Experience with Open Book accounting and advanced MS Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders
• Membership of RICS, CIH or equivalent professional body desirable
• Ability to manage sensitive financial and commercial issues confidently and professionally
