Senior PPE Certification Officer

Location: UK (Remote / Home-based)

CCQS is seeking an experienced Senior PPE Certification Officer to join our growing technical team, supporting our expanding global certification activities across Europe, Asia, and beyond.

This is a primarily technical, desk-based role, focused on technical file evaluation, test report review, and certification decision-making under the PPE Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and UKCA requirements.

The position is well-suited to candidates who prefer deep technical engagement over audit-heavy or travel-intensive roles, with the opportunity to contribute directly to the development of CCQS’ technical capability and reputation.

• Conduct technical file reviews and evaluations for PPE products in accordance with applicable EU and UK regulations
• Review test reports, risk assessments, and compliance documentation against relevant harmonised standards
• Make or support certification decisions (Module B / Module C2 / Module D where applicable)
• Provide technical input on non-conformities and corrective actions
• Liaise with internal teams, laboratories, and clients on technical matters
• Support accreditation and notified body activities (e.g. INAB / UKAS assessments)
• Contribute to maintaining and developing CCQS’ technical competence across PPE scopes
  

Candidates should have strong experience in most of the following PPE categories:

• Head Protection
• Eye and Face Protection
• Hearing Protection
• Fall Protection
• Respiratory Protection

Additional experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

• Personal Flotation Devices (PFDs)
• Chemical Protective Clothing
• Specialist PPE categories
  

We are looking for candidates who:

• Have 5+ years’ experience within a Notified Body / Certification Body / Testing Organisation in PPE
• Are experienced in PPE certification under EU Regulation 2016/425 and/or UKCA framework
• Have strong capability in technical evaluation and interpretation of standards
• Are comfortable working independently on technical reviews and decision-making
• Prefer a structured, desk-based technical role rather than frequent travel or audit-heavy work
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and professional judgement
