About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Repairs Supervisor to join our team in Birmingham. You will be responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day repairs activity across tenanted and void domestic properties, ensuring works are completed safely, on time and to a high standard. This includes managing operatives, coordinating workloads, carrying out quality checks, supporting with technical guidance and maintaining strong communication with tenants and stakeholders.

Duties:
Supervise day-to-day delivery of planned and reactive maintenance works across occupied propertiesEnsure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and to required quality standardsConduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure resident satisfactionAllocate resources and operatives effectively to meet service targets and contractual obligationsManage work schedules and priorities to minimise disruption to residentsEnsure full compliance with Health & Safety regulations, COSHH, and company proceduresCarry out quality inspections and ensure corrective actions are implemented where necessaryLead and support a team of operatives, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management and productivity dashboardsIdentify training needs and coordinate development opportunities for team membersEnforce HR policies including attendance, conduct, and grievance proceduresMonitor and maintain company assets including vehicles, tools, PPE, and van stockOversee material usage and procurement to ensure cost-effective operationsUse system reports to track performance, resource deployment, and asset conditionAct as a key point of contact for residents, ensuring professional communication and issue resolutionLiaise with client representatives, subcontractors, and suppliers to coordinate service deliverySupport contract mobilisation, compliance audits, and service improvement initiativesAssist with budget control, forecasting, and identifying operational efficiencies and potential GainsProvide cover for other supervisors during absence or peak periodsAttend toolbox talks, training sessions, and formal company meetingsEnsure all activities reflect company values and maintain a professional image at all timesRole Criteria:
Previous experience in a R&M Supervisor or similar supervisory role within housing or property maintenanceProven track record of managing, monitoring, recording, and reporting Health & Safety and compliance activitiesExperience delivering planned and reactive maintenance in occupied propertiesCity & Guilds or equivalent in a relevant trade disciplineFull, valid UK driving licenceStrong understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including COSHHWorking knowledge of Schedule of RatesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsEffective people management with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop teamsStrong customer focus and commitment to service excellenceProblem-solving mindset with a results-driven approachStrong planning and organisational abilitiesDecisive decision-making under pressureAbility to negotiate and influence across teams and stakeholdersIT literate with confident oral and written communication skillsBenefits we can offer you:
