Deployment Engineer
3-Month Contract, On-site, Glasgow
Overview
A client is seeking a Deployment Engineer to support the upgrade of laptops to Windows 11/O365. The successful candidate will coordinate and manage the upgrade process, ensuring a smooth experience for end users and efficient device deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Contact users to confirm and remind them of their booking before receiving their laptop for the upgrade.
- Coordinate the provision of temporary laptops for users during the upgrade process.
- Manage the build process for laptops and ensure proper configuration.
- Facilitate the return of original devices from users once the upgrade is complete.
- Handle any non-standard devices by escalating to the 3rd Line Support team for resolution.
- Update the playbook and processes as needed to accommodate new device configurations.
- Provide clear communication and updates to users throughout the process, ensuring minimal disruption to their work.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Windows 10/11.
- Familiarity with Device Build and Application Deployment processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and user communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and elevate where necessary.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, user‑focused environment.
