The Role
As a Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for the service, repair, and overhaul of AC/DC motors and associated equipment. This is a hands‑on role requiring strong fault‑finding skills and a solid mechanical and electrical background.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, repair, and rewind AC/DC electric motors
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults effectively
- Strip, inspect, and rebuild motors and rotating equipment
- Carry out testing to ensure performance and reliability
- Work from engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Maintain accurate job records and ensure high‑quality standards
- Adhere to workshop health & safety procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience working with AC/DC motors in a workshop environment
- Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
- Mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge
- Experience with motor rewinding (desirable but not essential)
- Ability to read engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
- Self‑motivated, reliable, and quality‑focused
